Memorial Fixing

All our memorial stones are expertly fixed by fully qualified, trained monumental stone masons to fully comply with the NAMM (National Association of Memorials Masons) Code of Working Practice, the BRAMM Blue Book and the current British Standard – BS8415.

The exploded diagram below shows, in detail, how we fix our standard memorial headstone.

You can see in this image how we cut out the base ready for the foundation reinforced concrete, you will notice a string line which ensures the memorial will be perfectly lined.

Once the ground has been cut out to the required depth we part fill the area with sub base and firmly compact it down so that the reinforced concrete foundation fits perfectly.

Once the sub base is complete with the reinforced concrete foundation we can then fit the base of the memorial to the concrete foundation using a concrete mixture for additional strength.

Once the base is in place securely we then push a stainless steel anchor through the base and the reinforced concrete – we then smother this area with concrete ready for the headstone.

The headstone is now prepared ready to be fixed onto the memorial base using stainless steel dowels and cement at the required depth.

Here you can see the headstone being fitted to the base carefully using two pieces of wood to protect the headstone when fitting the stainless steel dowels into the base.

It is important to make sure the memorial headstone is level with the base and ground before finishing the installation to ensure you get a perfect finish.

Lastly the excess concrete is carefully wiped away and the stone is polished to perfection and the flower vase is fitted should one be required, additional memorial extra’s can be added at this point.
